Identifying when to shift
This applies to upshifts and downshifts. Upshifts should occur when car reaches its max revs before redline. Downshifts should occur so the car is in the appropriate gear to quickly accelerate out of a corner.

The driver should be able to identify the designated point-by or passing zones reviewed in the morning driver meeting. They are able to identify when a pass would be too late, even if a point by was given. They demonstrate patience and do not pass without a point-by.
This applies to upshifts and downshifts. If the momentum of the car can be maintained in the current gear within an appropriate rev range, shifting will likely be unnecessary and may negatively impact the car's momentum. A downshift too soon may cause harm to the motor if overrevved.
The driver is able to identify oversteer occurring mid-corner that is usually caused by a throttle lift after maintenance throttle has been applied or after full throttle has been committed to. Eventually, a driver will be able to use this as a technique to help rotate the car and effectively widen the radius of the turn to allow earlier application of full throttle on to a longer straightaway.
Based on where the geometric apex is in a turn, late apex means after that point. Driver should be able to place car on a late apex and be able to describe whether it is advantageous and how it effects the line and corner exit.
