HPDE Schedule Update - May 2-3 Cancelled

AutoInterests Family,

We appreciate the overwhelming amount of feedback we received in the survey sent out yesterday.  The hundreds of responses contained many great suggestions, feedback and encouragement.

Obviously there is no "playbook" for handling a situation like this; it is unprecedented and we're doing our best and adjusting on-the-fly.

Register With Confidence

During this time of uncertainty there are a lot of "unknowns", but know one thing for certain - we will always take care of our drivers!

Appropriate throttle inputs while cornering

The concept of this competency is sometimes also referred to as "throttle steering".  This is used as drivers progress in skill level to navigate a corner and requires a high degree of car control proficiency and other underlying skills such as corner entry speed and braking prior to the corner.

This also is related to the timing of throttle input when exiting a corner which can be different based on drivetrane and other factors.

Throttle lift after giving point-by, not drag racing

Passing is a cooperative effort. Once a point-by is given, the driver being passed must take appropriate actions to assist the safe execution of the pass. If the passing car is a momentum car with lower horsepower, a higher horsepower car assisting the pass will likely have to lift or delay their acceleration until the pass is successfully completed. Even with similarly matched cars, the car being passed may have to lift to assist the pass. Drag racing is not tolerated and will be dealt with firmly and appropriately.
