Check mirrors on straights, before brake zones, at turn-in and track out. Rather than worrying about the car catching yours, acknowledge them by tapping the rearview mirror if not able to give an immediate point-by. Breathe and relax. Continue to drive your line and be predictable. As your car approaches the designated passing zone, recheck your mirrors to see which side they are presenting to and point them by as soon as possible in the designated passing zone. The rearview mirror only takes up 10% or less of the area of your windshield. Use the mirror as a reference for other drivers, but do 90% of your driving out the windshield in front of the car.
